With this tour you will be visiting the Pompeii, Herculaneum and Oplontis ruins.
The violent eruption of the Moun Vesuvius, in 79 AD, killed thousands of people and the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum and Oplontis had disappeared beneath tons of ash, pumice and solidified mud.
In the archaeological excavations of Pompeii are of particular interest in the Villa of the Mysteries, the Amphitheatre, the Grand Theatre and the Little Theatre, the Forum, the patrician domus with gardens, the houses, the old market, the brothel, the many temples dedicated to the gods, such as the Temple of Jupiter or Venus or even Apollo and much more.
The main attractions of Herculaneum are the public buildings, leisure and religious buildings, villas and houses. Among the villas should be mentioned the Villa of the Papyri of the most representative and most famous of the site.
Oplontis the so called Villa Poppea is an ancient Roman seaside villa situated between Naples and Sorrento. You will see well preserved frescos and small and incredible garden-alcoves. Evidence suggests that it was owned by the Emperor Nero and believed to have been used by his second and rather notorious wife, Poppea Sabina, as her main residence when she was not in Rome.
